Introducing CAD CAM Dental MillingTools

Meet the world’s newest dental instrument manufacturer Dental Laboratorio

Dental Laboratorio is the result of a collaboration between Zecha Germany (managed by Stefan Zecha and Reiner Kirschner), Travis Leer (CEO / Director; former Managing Director of Sagemax Dental GmbH), and Carsten Völkel (CTO / Director; owner of the Die Modellmacher milling center in Hanover, Germany). Zecha believes that the best way to bring your high quality instruments to the dental market is to enlist the support of professionals with deep industry knowledge and a variety of milling materials. Together, this new supergroup created the AlienTools brand, focused on quality and futuristic technology.

Dental Laboratorio first launched the dental milling tools (Z.T.) line of tools, which drew attention to innovation in milling, namely FlatCoat DIA Multilayered Real Diamond Coatings. Many dental technicians already knew the difference between DLC (Diamond Like Carbide) coatings and real diamond coatings, but most of them were unaware that there were different types of real diamond coatings. Conventional diamond coatings are long, singular crystals, and if damaged, they can break down to carbide. In turn, FlatCoat DIA is made from alternating layers of true micro and nanocrystals of diamond, which provide a smoother surface that causes less friction, and if damaged, the layers prevent tearing at the next level. Both factors lead to an increase in the service life of the coating.

Since its launch, Dental Laboratorio has also released CoCr (C. T.) and PEEK / PMMA (P. T.) tools with FlatCoat TTN and FlatCoat TEC coatings. These coatings are characterized by the uniformity of the applied layers, which provides a smooth surface of the material to be milled, which ultimately leads to better milling results. These coatings also extend the life of the tools.

Much attention has been paid to coatings, however, this is not the only factor that ensures the greater durability of the cutters. Selected carbide, in-house production of carbide rods, unique geometry, machining exclusively on Swiss grinding machines, multi-stage quality control and a secret method of preparing the tools, all these factors influence the final product. This manufacturing process, which has been developed for over 50 years, ensures that every Zecha tool meets the world standard they set.
